Topographies of Life:
Pam Rogers, Lynn Sures, Mel Watkin
Exhibition at American University Museum,
Katzen Center for the Arts
September 3-December 15, 2019
Curated by Jennifer Riddell
Topographies is my first museum exhibition of the Human Origins drawings and paintings I have focused on in the past 3 years. Jennifer Riddell has followed these works carefully and chose selected pieces from the large body of work, including drawings made at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, at the Nairobi National Museum, in the Olorgesailie basin of the Great Rift Valley; and paintings made at a residency in NYC and others made in my own studio.
You can see the full catalog of the show which illustrates several of the artworks; read excerpts from the curator’s essay and my artist statement; and watch the artists’ panel discussion with the following links.
